pirates of the Caribbean

being that i've never seen Pirates Of The Caribbean, a good review is very important, and for me i think Kemodes was very persuasive. in his review he stated how the movie was too narrative and the characters "...had to keep stopping and explaining the movie to each other." this for me is very annoying especially in a movie. Its like please will we just get on with the movie already. the purpose of a movie is to add visual. if im watching the movie i can clearly see whats going on without you having to explain over and over. also he said "every five minutes a new quest is announced.... each more fatuously inconsequential than the last..." another thing i wouldn't personally enjoy about this movie. i am not a fan movies with a mission involved so to read that this movie constantly does it just really throws me over the edge. but there are some things about this review i didnt find that convincing and that was what he said about johnny depp's acting. from all the commercials that i've seen the movie is meant to bee dramatic and over the top so by him saying that this was some of depps worst acting isnt the most selling. lasly he complains about the movies length. i LOVE trilogy's. the lord of the ring is my favorite movie to date and the length is one of the reasons why. as long as a movie is good, it never matter how long it is or how many sequels it has. over all i would say that this was a pretty good and persuasive review because even though the new pirates is out, i dont really want to see it based on some of the things kemode said. but then again, i always like to see things for myself and have my own opinion. so maybe one day if one of these movies happen to be on television, i'll leave it on that station.

when writing a profile of someone, you should always try to display, to the best of your ability the personality of the person you are writing about. it is your duty to write in a manner that people will feel like they are witnessing exactly what the profiler would do in what ever situation you are writing about. when i wrote a profile on my supervisor i chose to write about how she operates on a regular work day. i made sure that i expressed how she spoke with certain people and the things that she was feeling throughout the day. once i wrote put the final touches on the paper, i let her read it. i think that goes without saying.  i don't think its fair to publish work about someone without letting them approve it first, they should be able to know whats being said about them. make sure that whats being put out is as close to them as possible.

this is one of those social issues that trigger strong feeling which, at times can cloud reasoning. reflect on your own response to issues like this. when you have an emotional response to a public argument how do you get past it.

when im faced with situations where there is no right or wrong answer because everyone has their own feelings and opinions i try to understand both views. first i find my own standing, how i feel about the situation and then i look at it from other perspectives. like abortion for example. i am against it. if someone were to ask me what they should do my response is, deal with your responsibilities. but on the other hand, people are entitled to do what they want with their own bodies. its their life and as long as they are not harming another person its legal. i do not try to change a persons point of view i just try to get them to understand my way as i did with theirs.

"i am not a savage"

in this essay the author decided to use the method of ethos to reach readers. you can tell this by the way voice that she uses throughout the essay that she believes strongly in what she is writing. she seems to be very passionate and heartfelt about her community and the way their racist beliefs of Native Americans.
Although using ethics is a decent way to appeal to an audience, everyone doesn't feel the same way about things. she came across as if racism is just wrong and that the schools schools should teach more about Native Americans but to a reader who is "racist" wouldn't care what it is she's saying because to him racism isn't wrong and the things he believe is right. ethos is a great way to reach an audience when you have a general idea of the group you speaking to.

in life there is only one thing thats promised and that's death. so why, if we know thats one its its bound to come, why when it comes around it hurts like hell? im not a major religious person but i do have good faith. i've encountered my share of deaths but its a totally different feeling when its people close to you. one week after the start of this semester i lost my twin sister. it was extremely hard but i was able to deal with it because unfortunately we weren't very close. actually not close at all, but after her death i learned that she requested that i take care of her son. that was the least i can do. so i now have to provide for not only myself but a 7yr old boy. difficult but i did it my best seeing that i now have 2 jobs and attending school full time. then on may 6th my mother was taken away from me. it hurt. she was my best friend my everything. the worst feeling ever but she always told me to have faith no matter what because thats where my strength comes from. so i

"BUCKEYE"

4. While "Bukeye" is not a confessional essay, it is quite personal. Reflect on how comfortable you are writing, as sanders did,
When i am writing, the easiest topics are the ones where im talking about my life. i feel like the experiences i've had are what made me the person i am today. i have no problem sharing them because once i reveal some of my background, people seem to understand and appreciate me more. Although, i am not one to express how i feel verbally, writing has always been one of my strengths. i used to keep a journal and write about my day and how i felt about things. it was a great stress reliever. especially for someone that had to go through alot and didnt want to be judged. thats the thing with writing about my life. no one can tell me what was right or wrong and how i should feel. its my life and my decisions. some of the best papers i've ever written for school were personal ones. the words are so real and authentic.
