in this essay the author decided to use the method of ethos to reach readers. you can tell this by the way voice that she uses throughout the essay that she believes strongly in what she is writing. she seems to be very passionate and heartfelt about her community and the way their racist beliefs of Native Americans.
Although using ethics is a decent way to appeal to an audience, everyone doesn't feel the same way about things. she came across as if racism is just wrong and that the schools schools should teach more about Native Americans but to a reader who is "racist" wouldn't care what it is she's saying because to him racism isn't wrong and the things he believe is right. ethos is a great way to reach an audience when you have a general idea of the group you speaking to.
